The “Clean Sri Lanka” programme, a key government initiative under President Anura Kumara Dissanayake, has commenced the implementation of 34 new projects for this year. Following a workshop in April that provided guidance on project proposals, these initiatives have progressed with a national budget allocation of Rs. 5 billion. The program continues to focus on fostering social, environmental, and ethical transformation across the country. Projects such as a nationwide school program for road safety, a 1,000-acre forest plantation, and the construction of modern public toilets are now underway, demonstrating the active progress of this national effort.
