Project Management (PM) is a cornerstone for delivering successful outcomes in any sector, be it construction, IT, education, or manufacturing. My journey in project management began with my undergraduate studies at the University of Moratuwa and has since evolved through research, industry exposure, and educational development efforts.
හුදෙකලාව ඇවිදිගෙන යන වියපත් ගැමියකු ගැන සිතන්න. ඔහු සෙසු ලෝකයෙන් වෙන් වූ තනි පුද්ගලයකු සේ ඔබට සිතුණත් එය එසේ නොවේ. ගමේ ග්රාම නිලධාරියාගේ ලැයිස්තුවේ ඔහුගේ නම තිබෙයි. ලංකාවේ ජනගහනය ගණන් හදන්නේ ඔහුත් ඇතුළත්වය. කොවිඩ් එන්නත් තුනම ලබාගත් සෞඛ්ය අංශ දත්ත පද්ධතියක ඔහුගේ නමත් තිබෙන්නට පුළුවන. ඔහු ඡන්දදායකයකු නිසා රටේ පාලනයටද ඔහු අනියමින් හෝ සම්බන්ධ වේ. මේ නිසා සමාජ හා දේශපාලනික තීන්දු තීරණ ගැනීමේදී ඔහු සිටීම, ඔහුගේ අනුගත වීම හා ඔහුගේ පැවැත්ම සලකා බලනු ලැබේ.
ගොඩනැඟිල්ලක් හැදීම ගසක් සිටුවීමට සමාන නම් ගස උස යන තරමට එහි මුල් පොළොව තුළට කිඳාබැසිය යුතුය. නොඑසේ නම් එහි මුල් පද්ධතිය පොල් ගසක මෙන් දස දහස් ගණනක් මුල් කෙඳිති විසිරී පැතිරී මහපොළොව ශක්තිමත්ව බදා වැලඳගත යුතුය.
This story is also related to the project that I mentioned in my previous column. I have had many experiences working in difficult project environments with a large and complex set of stakeholders. Project life is not always easy. We do not always get well-trained, well-mannered, educated, or amicable stakeholders to deal with.
